第二天，齊桓公和燕莊公跟着黃花進了孤竹國都城，果然是一座空城。齊桓公讓燕莊公留駐在這裏，自己帶兵讓黃花帶路到沙漠中去追答裏呵。黃昏時分，他們來到一個地方地人叫它"迷谷"，只見平沙一片，跟大海一樣無邊無際。大家都辨不清方向，齊桓公趕緊派人找黃花，可黃花早就沒影了，齊桓公這才反應過來，是中了黃花的詭計。這時，齊國的大臣管仲說?我聽說北方有個“旱海”，是個很險惡的地方，恐怕就是這兒，我們不能再走了。"捱了一夜，第二天天亮，仍然不知怎麼走出去，人困馬乏，隨時都有餓死渴死的危險。
