一、有些句子學生十分熟悉，根據所學知識，一眼就可識破，則不必顧及其他。如 :
I must try my best learn English well.
try one’s best後應跟不定式。故在 best後應加“to”。
二、有些題目要從時態、語態、語氣或主謂一致等方面來判斷。如 :
1. We have studied most of Book by the end of last week.
by後跟表示過去的時間狀語時，對應的時態該用過去完成時，因此，該句中have應改爲 had。
2. Those novels wrote by Lu Xun 60 years ago.
句中 wrote應改爲 were written。因爲 these novels是動作的承受者。
三、有些題目要從動詞的用法，詞組搭配以及用詞的知識方面考慮。如 :
—Where’s the boy student？
—He has been to the library.
句中 has been to表示“去過某地，已回來”，而這裏的男同學顯然沒回來，所以該處需改爲“has gone to”。
四、越來越多的辨認錯誤題，綜合了儘可能多的語法、詞彙知識，因而同學們不能只從某項語法或詞彙用法方面去判斷，更應從各方面來判斷錯誤的可能性。如 :
He broke the window when he was playing football and he paid of the glass the next day.
這一句不但要考慮broke、paid是否正確，而且要判斷football, next day前是否有定冠詞，更要覈對“paid of”的準確性，因爲 of與 for較相似，故此句paid of應改爲paid for。
經典範例引路
例1 Lily has reached home three hours ago.
簡析 :可將 has reached改爲reached，即一般過去時。另一種改法是將句尾的three hours ago去掉，因涉及到不止一個選項，故在此題中不能這麼改。
例2 You can’t get across when the lights are green.
簡析 :此題語法上並沒有錯，只是不符合事實，應將D項的. green改爲red，才符合“紅燈停，綠燈行”的交通規則。
例 3 Don’t get into the gate before they tell you do that.
簡析 :tell後接不定式作賓語補足語，即tell sb. to do sth，其中的to不可省略。
